UCBH/TSS FAQ

1. Once services have been established, can I request additional or less support? (e.g., TSS, BSC, or MT hours)
These concerns need to be addressed with the Program Manager. In order to change the recommendation level of series, an interagency meeting must be held to discuss the change. Another psychological evalustion may also be hald to discuss the change. Another Psychological evaluation may also be needed. Any request for scheduling changes must be brought to the attention of the Program Manager.

2. What happens if I decide I no longer want services?
Wraparound Services are voluntary, so services may be ended at any time. Please contact the Program Manager if you are considering stopping treatment.

3. What should I do if I have a meeting, appointment, etc., during the scheduled wraparound service?
Please contact the Program Manager in advance. Since consistency is an integral part of treatment, it is important for all parties to adhere to the previously planned schedule.

4. Can the TSS transport my child?
TSS personnel are not permitted to provide transportation to clients or families.

5. Can the TSS provide services when parents aren't home?
The TSS cannot provide services unless the parents or typical child care providers are present.

6. If I have concerns regarding my child's medication, whom do I contact?
Wraparound Services do not have a consulting psychiatrist, so wraparound staff are not prepared to answer medication-related questions. Please address these concerns with your child's psychaitrist or family physician. If you do not have a psychiatrist, the Program Manager can help you find one.

7. What are Billing Slips?
Billing slips are the forms used to record the hours worked by the TSS, BSC and MT's. Billing slips are submitted to the Office of Medical Assistance to receive payment for the service. If your child is younger than 14 years old, you will be asked to sign the wraparound billing slips. Please review billing slips carefully before signing to be sure the hours are correct. Please address any questions or concerns about the slips to the Program Manager. Please don't ever sign billing slips in advance, before the service is provided.

8. Whom should I contact if I have a question about the Supplemental Plan?
Questions related to the treatment plan should be addressed with the MT of the BSC who wrote the plan. Please call the Program Manager if you do not know how to reach that person.

9. Who pays for Wraparound Services?
EPSDT, or early and Periodic Screening, Diagnosis and Treatment, is the funding source for Wraparound Services. Children and adolescents receiving Medical Assistance are eligible for EPSDT.

10. What should I do if I want more services than are recommended?
You should ask the Program Manager to schedule an interagency meeting to discuss your request. If you disagree with the recommendations of the team or psychologist, you may file a formal greivance with the Program Manager.

11. What should the TSS do at dinnertime?
TSS are not permitted to accept food or drink from their clients. If you would like the TSS to join you at dinnertime, you can request they bring their own food.

12. What information will the TSS report about my child and family?
The TSS will share information about the treatment progress with the MT, BSC and Program Manager. We will also discuss progress with those outside persons you specifically approve through a written consent. In additon, you should be aware that mental health workers are required by law to report any time they suspect child abuse in their professional work or anytime a client is at imminent risk of harming themselves or others. If you have questions about these reporting guidelines, feel free to talk to the BSC/MY or Program Manager assigned to your family.

13. What shoudl I do in the event of a crisis?
If a crisis occurs while wraparound personnel are not available you should contact your county crisis # or The Meadows Crisis Line at 1-800-641-7529.
